Extensively rehabilitated in 2001 and in 2020, Cornerstone is a garden-style affordable apartment community for families with modern architecture located in Santa Ana, CA. The 2001 renovation of Cornerstone was part of a major effort by Jamboree, the City of Santa Ana, County of Orange, investors and local law enforcement to completely revitalize this neighborhood, which previously suffered from high crime rates.
In the 2020 renovation, each residence has new apartment features, including new cabinets and countertops, bathroom fixtures, blinds, wall heaters, energy-efficient lighting and appliances, and other general repairs. In addition, second-floor apartments have acoustic-dampening flooring. The renovations brought the entire property up to green and accessibility standards. Additional parking was added via an innovative car lift.
The community has both laundry facilities and carports for resident convenience. Jamboree’s Community Impact Group provides programs created to meet the needs of residents, including after-school tutoring to help children excel in school.
Cornerstone’s walkable location is a short distance from several local schools, shopping and dining. For recreation, residents go to the nearby Santa Ana Zoo, Prentice Park and Madison Park. Rail lines and car shares are located one mile away, and there are four bus lines within 0.3 miles of the community.
Cornerstone is an example of the way Jamboree partners with local government, investors and property management to create vast improvements in Orange County neighborhoods that help residents to live safer, more secure, happier lives. Jamboree is dedicated to maintaining these improvements for residents and keeping Cornerstone affordable for the long-term.
