Sierra Fountains is an affordable housing community for workforce families situated at the corner of Sierra Avenue and Ramona Avenue in the City of Fontana. Located just minutes from downtown, this is Jamboree’s sixth Fontana affordable housing development, developed in partnership with the Fontana Housing Authority. Jamboree transformed a blighted lot previously owned by San Gabriel Water Company into quality apartment homes for working families that’s near shopping, schools, and transportation services.
The property’s community center is a focal point of Sierra Fountains. A spacious 5,000-square-foot community building houses onsite management offices, community kitchen facilities, a computer lab, and space for Jamboree’s onsite programs for families. These services are provided at no cost to residents and the surrounding neighborhood.
A unique feature of Sierra Fountains – and a first for an affordable housing community in one of San Bernardino County’s largest cities – is the 3,000-square-foot health and wellness clinic (opening winter 2022). As part of Jamboree’s partnership with Cucamonga Valley Medical Group, the clinic offers residents and community members convenient access to health education classes, flu shots, immunization services, and sick childcare services.
Healthy living is further promoted at the property with an array of outdoor amenities for recreation and community building – including a swimming pool, dining and play areas, and green space. All of Jamboree’s properties in Fontana benefit from the city-wide Crime Free Multi-Housing Program – a coalition of law enforcement, business owners/managers, and residents committed to providing a safe living environment.
With a commitment to green and sustainable affordable housing, Jamboree’s Quality Development and Construction team designed Sierra Fountains to achieve a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) for Homes Gold rating.
Quality workforce housing like Sierra Fountains is creating stronger, healthier communities across California. Jamboree’s long-term ownership of 55+ years assures both its residents and the city that Sierra Fountains will continue to be a well-maintained and affordable community asset for years to come. It’s part of a longstanding public/private partnership with investors, property management, and community service leaders to revitalize neighborhoods and offer quality housing choices to all of Fontana’s residents.
