Milejo Village in San Ysidro represents an innovative approach to affordable housing, targeting the needs of individuals and families earning up to 25% of the Area Median Income (AMI) while also offering supportive services for those experiencing homelessness.

This 64-unit development is a testament to collaborative effort and shared vision. With the assistance of HOME Investment Partnerships Grant funds and the dedicated administration by the San Diego Housing Commission, Milejo Village embodies the synergy of public, private, and community partnerships to address critical housing needs.

The development's design prioritizes community interaction and resident support, with a generous 2,705 square foot community room and adjoining outdoor area. Additionally, resident lounges, a computer room, and a suite of other amenities provide a foundation for education, growth, and wellness.

Key stakeholders, including Red Stone Equity Partners & JP Morgan Chase, Umpqua Bank, and the County of San Diego, have invested in the physical and social infrastructure of Milejo Village. With $15.4 million in tax credit equity and substantial construction and permanent financing, this venture demonstrates the power of collective investment in community transformation.

Our approach extends beyond construction; we are deeply invested in the 'whatever it takes' philosophy of resident services. Jamboree, alongside Alpha Tenant Peer Support Services Program, offers fully funded wrap-around services within the community center. Educational programs, healthcare accessibility, and social activities are not just services—they are pathways to empowerment and self-sufficiency.

Milejo Village also stands out for its commitment to sustainability and environmental health. The inclusion of ENERGY STAR appliances, efficient irrigation systems, low-VOC materials, and solar-ready infrastructure reflects our dedication to eco-friendly living.
