Jamboree partnered with The Long Beach Housing Development Corporation in revitalizing three severely blighted, crime-infested, vacant buildings in the Central Long Beach Redevelopment Project Area. This transformed a property with a multitude of illegal conversions that were unsafe for occupancy into quality affordable housing, a much-needed asset in Long Beach. The extensive renovation resulted in a quality property with modern architecture and landscaping that dramatically improved the physical environment, raising standards for the surrounding Los Angeles County neighborhood.
The transformation included reconfiguring the structures to create larger floor plans for families. Enclosed garage spaces and a new community room make for a livable, community-oriented property. Numerous site amenities were added. Each unit was fully renovated and modernized. Further improvements included adding diagonal parking and traffic-calming roundabouts, creating bio swales and planting new street trees. The renovation and offsite improvements combined to dramatically enhance the property and improve the quality of life in this neighborhood.
Collage’s award-winning transformation – from blighted vacant buildings to quality workforce housing – is an architectural collaboration with Jamboree’s Quality Development and Construction. A shared commitment by the City of Long Beach and property management ensures ongoing, stable affordable housing that empowers residents to flourish.
